Snagged this off GB last week. Just got it out of gun jail while ago. Price was, at least I thought, quite reasonable for a complete rig but it got no bids and was relisted in a 24 hour auction. Description may've had something to do with it, wasn't described as a No,4T just a No.4 Mk.1 w/No, 32 scope. Was expecting to see something other than a genuine rig. The mag is wrong and the sling is on backwards but otherwise it looked good from here so I gambled and won. Have'nt had it apart(and probably won't) but it's all Savage far as I can tell except for the LB walnut forend, replaced at H&H during conversion I reckon. Original barrel has also been replaced with a 5 groove Brit made tube as many/most were.
According to my lil blue scope book it's topped off with a '44 Watson Mk.II and a Rose Bros' bracket. No sidewall ''T'' or D6E stamp.
Scope # matches the one on the wrist but bracket is mis-matched. My guess is it's a scopeless T a previous owner tried to improve by stamping the scope number on the wrist, but I could be wrong. So there you have it. Look it over and tell me if I missed anything. Photos could be better, lots of glare from the light reflecting off the coat of WD-40 the seller so thoughtfully applied before shipping....The knothead not only slathered it all over the entire rifle he also got it all over the scope as well, lens and all. Musta let it soak in a vat over night, the crap is oozing from every nook and cranny it's got. I hate it when they do that.Information
