Yes, they all fit each other. Only difference is some of the new style F/S commercially available.

yes and they also fit the older AR's with the early 3 prong flash hider

any M16 bayonet will also fit on the South Korean Daewoo rifles

this applys for the M7 and M9 , only place you run into trouble is with the carbines - not enough blade protruding to do anything but irritate

Specially with our new C8A(3?) carbine? The barrel leaves only about three in of blade out front...but I still wouldn't want to get poked.

Only on the 16" barrel though. The 14.5" works perfect .........if a guy could have such an animal

Sportsman Guide was selling an M4 upper with a 14 inch barrel. The flash suppressor was pinned and soldered to the barrel giving it a legal 16 inches. No special permits and all legal by ATF.

I had a brand new C8A3 issued to me for a period in Afghanistan and thought of the same thing. At that time my Bayonet 2000 was staying clean in a duffle bag, next to some other pieces of not-so relevant kit, like my gasmask, snowshoes, and BFA.

My bayonet hit the duffle bag because previously I had a C7A2 and M203A1 and no one could give a 100% reliable answer that the grenade launcher could be fired with the bayonet fitted. Before deployment we were on the M203 range popping off "TP" chalk rounds when one guy's (name withheld) sling got in front of the muzzle. Upon firing, the chalk round struck the sling, shattered and covered him and the weapon in comical fluorescent orange powder. While a real HE round is supposed to have safety delays, I was always careful to keep the muzzle clear because of that day.

If things got dire enough that we were down to poking each other with "point-ed sticks" (Monty Python) I reasoned the carbine would make an excellent club, and my much sturdier fighting knife would have to win the day.

Luckily it never got to that point. (a pun in a bayonet discussion)

Agreed, but handling prisoners is so much better with a blade fitted. I don't think using the 203 with bayonet fitted is a good idea. If you line them up, you won't make it past...very embarrassing with HE or buckshot.

I agree, there are a few things that everyone seems to take more seriously than rifles or machine guns in a war zone.

A bayonetted rifle, a pistol, a shotgun, and a hand grenade. Be it detainees, or civilians everyone took notice when you had one of those in your hand regardless the reason.

The quirks of human nature I guess.
