Who made this stock ? TIA

I have this nice walnut Pot Belly stock, I got it with a W recoil plate and a IO hand guard. It has a flaming bomb in the sling well and nothing else as far as I can see. There is an Ordnance CC stamp on the right side, and it has the long channel. I though it was a Marlin but compared it to another Marlin I have and that one is the short channel type and has a M and a bomb in the sling well.

    Thanks Chris

Probably not. It appears to be a "generic" m2 stock. I can't make out the marking in the sling bevel.
When they tell you to behave, they always forget to specify whether to behave well or badly!

Sure looks like an Inland crossed-cannons. I haven't seen many late stocks marked that way but from here the cartouche looks original.

I was leaning that way, but there's no IO in the sling well only the flaming bomb.

So it's a mystery stock. But with the cartouche, I think it's good enough. In other words, that stock on a late Inland or any other rebuild should be acceptable. All stocks didn't have all marks. It's nice to find a well-marked one but with wood getting scarcer and scarcer, I think it's a good G.I. stock that was issued on a carbine.

As somebody said 20 years ago, 'Wood is king.' And now it really is.

There's lots of USGI M1icon and M2 stocks since the Korean ones ended up over here, but finding a quality collector grade stock is one step away from impossible.

That crack behind the recoil plate is pretty obvious. Looks like the "professional cleaning" resulted in a poorly fitting butt plate, too. - Bob
