Way out to the left of the line I see a bi-pod a BAR perhaps, atop the hill in the background more troops perhaps facing an obstacle or could be as usual the top brass over seeing proceedings.

Hope the guy in the foreground knows how to use that bayonet, because his bolt is open and his cartridge belt is empty.

Well, there's also the minor point (no pun intended) that the scabbards are still on the bayonets. No helmets, no ammo, no sharp pointy things........why would one bother staging a photo like that, and as a training exercise I don't see the point either since it would be different charging with a helmet on.

It appears to be troop training, possibly recruit training. There is what appears to be a large sign board to the left of the troops in the distant background at top centre.
