looks good (bar the grip that ruins the illusion)

could you get an original wooden grip, cut a deep groove into the back and fit the grip with a metal sheet to replicate the grip cover, keeping it californian legal but looking more original?

even a couple of strips of suitably coloured grip tape would do the trick.
