    Swiss 1896/11

Met with one of my rare successes at the Gun Auction from Hell today. Have not taken it apart but does not appear to be import marked.

those shoot really well. all of the swiss series upgraded to and past the 11s are increasing in price significantly. get them while they are hot.

And all I picked up today was a Star Model B at Oaks. Meet up with Mike too. Looks like we all had a good day.

I am very happy with this one. Took it apart and everything matches. The number on the stock had me a little concerned but I suspected that was a unit marking of some sort. Stock and handguard have matching serials along with the bands. No import mark, no rust except a tiny bit on the inside of the butt plate. Did not find a date on the stock nor a tag under the butt plate which wasn't unexpected due to being a private sale.

For whatever reason all Swissicon Infantry Rifles I have owned didn't have tags, well all their carbine have had tags.

Very nice example, personally I prefer the Gewehr 1911 a bit more than the 96/11 just because of the flat butt-plate on it, makes it a bit more enjoyable to shoot than the curved butt plate.

Nice colored stock. Well done and they shoot so very well.
MJ, don't take this personally, but that's crap.

I think most 96/11's are still a hidden bargain, congrats
