need to know value of this m1 carbine

I inherited it from my uncle, I have no idea when he acquired it but suspect sometime in late 50s to early 60s, I have had it for 17 years and just fire it for the first time Wed. I would like to know what it is worth as I plan on selling it so I can get something with an optic sight, It is in amazing condition for being made in 1943.

    Bolt flat profile EM-Q
The safety is a push button
    Hammer LT-Q

Stock mark RMC early stocks with high wood and I-cut oiler recess, handguard has two rivets , flat straight stock

Very good written description. But for a full appraisal, several well focused and detailed pictures taken in indirect natural light would help greatly.

Thank you for the pics. Your description revealed it to be a rebuild, but the condition can be evaluated with pics. It looks pretty nice. The stock looked a little on the light colored side, like it had been cleaned/refinished, but the barrel channel is also light in color, so it may be correct.

Just picking a recent closed auction from Gunbroker, one in less condition recently sold for $900

Other rebuilds, and in varying condition, sold for anywhere from $750 to $1,550. I would guess that yours is somewhere in the middle of the value range for recent sales.
