Notice the 2nd guy with the 03. Maybe used for grenade launching, Ray

Prob'ly . Because of the shadow I can't make out the boot or lack thereof . M15 ring , if there , would be on the other side . It is an 03 and not a A3.

I may be wrong, but thought they used the leaf sight on the 1903 & 1903A1 and not the M15 ring, but you would need the M15 on the 1903A3

Correct , I was saying a M15 ring would be " proof " of grenade launching use . 1943 would be a little early to see it anyway .

Those do look like the front ends to 03's yes.
