    Privi PPU vs Aguila

i've been offered both in 110 grn fmj rn. is there any reason to prefer one over the other?
from what i've been able to discover Privi seems to get the nod with many saying that the Aguila is dirty and under powered. though not everyone seem to feel this way.

FWIW I've fired both brands. One carbine digests Aguila fine the other not so much with stovepipes and not so great accuracy. Both ran fine with Privi with no disenable difference in accuracy.

Either work well in most carbines. Aguila is somewhat lower powered, but it is accurate. If you reload, either will provide you with good cases for reloading. I've shot both and have no problem with either.
When they tell you to behave, they always forget to specify whether to behave well or badly!

It's Prvi. There is no vowel between the R and the V. That said, it's First-rate ammo

It's Russianicon (Serbia) made. I can find American ammo just for GP.

Aguila tends to run fine in mine. I get a stove pipe every 50-60 rounds but that's it. I won't say it's dirtier than PPU but I will say the cases tend to be dirtier when they come out of the action suggesting they aren't expanding and sealing like the PPU (or Federal for that matter) but I don't know if it's from a lighter charge in general that it does to a lot of people or if it's due to it not sealing enough for my chamber. Brass cleans up great for reloading though. Groups seem good on both though I can't say if POI changes much between the two as I don't recall ever shooting them side by side at 100 but I'm getting it ready for a shoot so I might check that later this week. I tend to shoot Aguila as it's what I can get locally but from here on out I'll probably shoot reloads for awhile until I wear out/lose the 300-400 pieces of brass I have now.

I use a lot of PRVI in different calibers and a lot of Aguila in different calibers. Both make fine ammunition, but since I no longer shoot .30 Carbine, I won't be testing either one of those. I have a few hundred rounds of PMC .30 Carbine left from 25 years ago if I get the itch to shoot the carbine every few years. Otherwise it just sleeps. BTW, for AK shooters, PRVI has 7.62X39 in round nose/soft point - looks like a pistol bullet. It loads fine and shoots about to the same point at 50 yds as anything else. Seems like it would make a pretty good HD round.

Every once in a while surplus ammo shows up at CMPicon. I buy what I can afford at the time, 2 to 4 cans, and it usually lasts until it becomes available again.

U.S. ammo - always what to use in a U.S. firearm.
