    M1 Carbine Stock, Potbelly type

Here's an eBay M1icon Carbine stock that's a bit out of the ordinary. I tried some Internet research on it, and came up empty handed. Possibly from a U.S. Navy shooting team? What do you guys think? - Bob

Certainly is out of the ordinary. Looks to be a commercial stock that someone decorated. Not USGI.

    Definitely custom made. NOT USGI.

Maybe a Fajen stock that was modded along the way? The cheek piece was something they did.

Jim, what time period were the Fajen stocks popular? I've got some gun magazines from the 60's - possibly I could find some ads in the back pages with pictures. The markings on this stock and the butt plate make me think there are more of these out there someplace. Look at the size of that cheek piece, bet that stock is heavy. - Bob

You should be able to find them in the cover ads there at that time. Worst case, '70s...they catered to the returning vets and their pilfered or cheap purchased carbines for hunting.

I saw that one too. The Navy did use the carbine stock as a platform for "line throwers". This one does not have the mods I have seen before for that application, so I am not sure what this one was for. WTMR might have some insight.

    Best Regards.....Frank
