Enfield marked rifle

I have just found an Enfield manufactured rifle dated 1927 with a three digit serial number.
The markings on the butt socket are the same as a normal military Mk111* but with the 1927 date.
It has been heavily sporterized with a replacement 9/43 dated barrel.
I have never seen a 1927 Enfield made rifle before and can find nothing about Enfield's of this date on the web or this forum. It is not a Ishapore rework.
Can anyone help.

I don't have the rifle at the moment, going to pick it up over the weekend so photos to follow.

I don't recall ever seeing one of that vintage before. Looking forward to pictures. The dating scheme on the barrel sounds Aussie to me, with the month and year.

I had a 1929 dated SMLE from Enfield; the rifle was numbered to match the barrel, which was WW1 vintage.
Got rid of it because of a Keedysville pedigree.
