    Got a LEAD!

I won a LEAD rebuilt Garandicon this weekend at an online auction. The lot description was pretty thorough and it came with many pictures.

I've become interested in the arsenal overhaul rifles and recently glommed an "O-66" Garand that is in outstanding condition. This LEAD looks pretty good too.

It almost looks to have the "red triangle" on the pistol grip.

    Thanks, Bob.

The auction description had the barrel as TE 2/ MW 1.5...hopefully it will be a good shooter.

    Thanks, guys!

I got the bug for the 60's rebuild marked Garands and glommed a USMC rebuild last month. Those have the "O-6x" mark on the upper receiver, which shows up in the pictures.

I figured that I would have trouble getting a LEAD, RRAD, or TE rebuild at auction, because auction houses usually do not break rifles down for their online auction pictures.

I was shocked while perusing the auctions to find the listing with the "LEAD 3-65" displayed in the pictures.

Has it got the little red paint triangle on the bottom of the grip area?

I think so. The only picture that shows the bottom of the pistol grip seems to show a small reddish orange triangle.

Examined a LEAD rebuilt M1icon ,3-69, also rebuilt by SA, 5-64, and it has glass bedding in the stock where the magazine floor plate seats. Is this common on rebuilt M1s?

This is done where the wood starts to collapse from oil saturation and needs a tightening up.
