    Hi all

My name is Cris and i am from Portugal, using this tread to get help on appraising a couple of items i bought in auction.

ASSEMBLY OF MILITARY AMMUNITION - Obsolete ammunition, prior to 1890, consisting of a 15 cm high and 1 full mortar fragment with 18 x 5.5 cm diameter

i have no idea where is it from or the value of it, i got it for 30€, around 36 us dollars, i thought they look amazing

    Welcome to the forum.

The one on the left, the projectile...looks like a 6Pdr solid shot. The one on the right is an 81mm mortar training round that's been broken from landing on hard surface. They were solid cast.
    Regards, Jim

I don't think that you overpaid for them but equally I wouldn't think they are worth a fortune. It's the type of thing you buy as a curio if you are interested in military items and display as ornaments.
