    What the!

    Can some one explain the attire of the soldier on the left as that looks like a coal scuttle helmet to me.
    Of note the soldier on the M-4's front glacis plate is asking for another mag for the Bren.

    I wonder if those are Free Frenchicon. The Germanicon type helmet, it looks like a German greatcoat too.

    From the 'T' number, the tank is Britishicon and the blokes standing at the front look like paratroopers from the shape of the cap badge. Clearly something going on and no steel helmets. Haven't they heard of health and safety at work.......

    There used to be (?) a monthly magazine that went back to where a lot of these photos were taken. Quite interesting in an odd sort of way. They'd go back here and find where the tank had chewed up the edge of the pavement or patches in the wall/railings where the bullet holes have been patched up. Oh well....... giving my age away again......

    You're right, Peter. They are from the 5th parachute battalion. Called the “Scottish” parachute battalion. Mainly 7th Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders.
