New to me Steyr M95 Long Rifle

Just picked up this Steyr M95 long rifle from a store I had never been to, that's less than 5 miles from my house. I had a Steyr M95 Carbine that I bought back 2013 for $99 from J&G Sales, then I stupidly sold it for what I thought was a good turnaround for me at $150. I started check last year to get another one to replace it and the damn things have disappeared from the retail market and private sellers want $275-$350 for the carbines. I had actually never seen a full size M95 until a month ago at a store and then I randomly see this one yesterday. I looked online and there isn't much out there about the long rifles. Best I can tell it is not one that was contracted to Bulgaria in WWII. Like many M95 long rifles and al the M95 carbines it was rechambered from 8x50r to 8x56r.

I think I got a good price on a sediment seen milsurp. Not a killer price but a good price.

    The rifle looks good.
Anything south of 400€ would be a very good price for the long one also here in Europe. They usually run at over 500 from what I could see lately, even quite a lot above that.
    Good buy!

Minor point FYI; not all carbines / Stutezens were re chambered to 8x56R; a few escaped.

He said a few escaped, which is very true, a very small amount escaped.

Nice M95 OP, it has been rebuilt (like pretty much all of them). You have a Bulgarian Contract stock on a non-Bulgarian contract rifle, which would be correct for the rebuild/rechambering (basically any M95 parts are correct for the rebuild ). Personally I quite like the M95s, a ton of mostly ignored history there. Hope you enjoy it.

Actually he said "al the carbines" which is why I posted my response.

The long rifles tend to go for more than the carbines. I didn't realize carbines were going so high. I just paid $100 for a carbine about two years ago.

Carbines saw a huge surge in price back in 2015 when the retail market went dry.

Nice long rifle. I have two carbines, one a cut down rifle and one Stutezen. If you have any loose fillings a few rounds from the carbine in 8 X 56R will finish them off. I also ended up with a few boxes of the Germanicon marked 1938 ammo that found its way over here. I still see a few carbines at the little gun shows but the long rifles seem to have dried up.
