95 chilean Short rifle 7mm Mauser

    Hey guys,

This rifle has a 1:8 twist and a assuming the 175 grain bullet would be best to load for the best accuracy? The groove measures .285

    Any input would be appreciated.

Very long throat. Will need a heavy bullet and only moderate velocity.

    here's one fellers input....

I have two Spanish 1893's and found that the long 175 grn & 165 grn round nose bullets had to be seated
a little deeper than normal to feed in my guns, but that pointed spitzer types feed with no problems. Both
rifles are quite accurate with all weight bullets tried so far. :thumb: never checked the twist though.

    and another's....

Try the S&B-176G-SPCE. Has large bearing surface and works well for me!

That ammo has shot tiny groups for me too. So has some old 173gr RN Lapua Softpoint.

doesn't sound seatin bullet close to the lands needs to be done.
