I have read a lot about the Korean War and that is of real interest to me.

You have to be very careful about going to foreign countries and taking photographs of the "locals" if you wish to avoid causing offence. Years ago I visited Dubai before it became a popular tourist destination that it is today and I was warned never, ever under any circumstances take close up photographs of the "locals" without asking their permission first. This is because without asking permission offence may be caused due to the camera being seen as an evil eye. I followed this advice and most people were happy to have their picture taken after being asked and I only recall one lady refusing permission which was respected.

Totally agree I worked in Libya in the late 70's and early 80's on various projects, one day I made the mistake of taking the photo of one of the Sudanese that cleaned our rooms and did laundry, that evening I was alarmed after returning from the mess hall at the sight of numerous military police searching the bunk house for cameras, mine wasn't found and from that point on I kept it under wraps. One friend was awakened by what he thought was a fly on his nose only to find it was the muzzle of an AK 47. Our resident brew master and distiller was ticked as he was running back and forth across the hall dumping all his beer down the shower. We used to be subjected to searches weekly and the camp superintendent would appease the MP's by taking them to the mess building for numerous deserts, quite often they would seize the VCR and latest tapes only to return them after viewing.
