    Yugo Mod 24 Stock

    Hi Guys,

I just bought a Yugoicon Mod 24 short rifle that has a duffle cut stock.
What is my choice to restock this to original?

    Thanks for your information

I take it the pieces needed are missing? Otherwise the fix would be to drill four holes - two in the cut piece, two in the rest of the stock, taking care they line up. Glue dowels into one set, then install it. If the pieces are missing I think any M24/47 or M48 will work, with the M24/47 stock being closer to the original.

A M24/47 stock is a M24 stock. The M24/47 was a rework of the M24s to bring them to a more updated standard (similar to the M48s, they also did the same thing for VZ-24s and K98ks). The stock remained the same except if you had a couple unique variations or it was too badly damaged (I had a M24/47 stock which was made from a M24 Cavalry Carbine stock, you could tell as they fitted a piece of wood into the cut out that had existed for the down-turned bolt).

If a M24/47 stock isn't available the next best as mentioned would be a M48 stock. Since the action is a intermediate length you are limited as to what stocks can be placed on the rifle.

    Mod 24 Stock

Thanks guys for the info on the stock.
The missing piece is just that, missing.
For the price I just had to take it home. It had a locked up bolt but I had it unlocked in about 30 sec.
All numbers matching except for the floor plate

    Thanks again guys

24/47 stocks are generally available on ebay in the $50 or less range. I just bought one about six months ago for $35.
