    Cool image! I think it is an M59 in the back, judging by the uniforms and insignia, a cold squad from an Armored Division (4th?) in the late 50s.

    When I worked at FMC Ordnance Division back in the early 60s we were building M113s and I don't remember the rise. Of course that was a bit of time ago.

    The pics are available on the internet. I drove M113 for some time. The lifting eye in front of the driver is also much smaller than an M113. The M113 hull ran straight from the corner to the rear on a straight line, not like this. These evolved into the M113.

    That must be one of the turrets that held two .30 browning 1919A4s...I saw those and thought how neat they were. I wasn't going to but here's a pic of a closer look at what I mean. Lifting eye for comparison...
