Mauser made by As BRNO help

    Hi all.

I recently came into possession of a very nice Mauser 98 action rifle I need some assistance in having a concrete identification of it.
The Rifle has a Milled Floor Plate / Trigger Guard.
Rifle is all Matching SN 1826

Please see the photographs for more information... I am a TOTAL noobie!! as to Mausers and am a bit stuck as to where to start as to what this actually is.... as the stock looks EXACTLY like a Germanicon issue Kar 98K but the reciever is devoid of crests / waffenampts / eagles etc other than the Lion.

Let me know what you think.

    Thanks much for looking.

It is a post war assembled k98k by Czechicon Brno factory. Left over Nazi parts may have been used. These were sold to many countries post WW2 including Israel. These usually have a "winter" trigger guard.

Looks like it may be a small ring too.

I should have been more clear,.980 threads on barrel shank which is a standard as well. If its a BRno vz 24 it will have 1.100 threads and read 24 on the left bolt lug raceway 24 is the one people like to build. If it was a Brazilianicon it would also have 1.100 threads. I think a k98 Erfurt, Danzig has the small ring but with large threads but I never put one together (K) this one just looked a little slim to me. In addition to Israel rifles were sold to Syria as well go figure and were from left over parts that were used from the combining of gew 24 t and 34t which did turn into the 98k like mtoms says

Receiver has been ground smooth, probable Germanicon WWII. Czechicon (?) fabrication/assembly late 1946/47. Sold on the world market and Israel was probable customer.
