    rebuild marks, where??

    have a sle 1918, and near the safey is another build stamp and it is dated '38 (rebuilt stamp??)

    has to be or it sat in a closet for 90 years

    It was inspected, repaired as necessary and marked in 1938. I've seen SMLE rifles with four different dates stamped on the left of the butt socket. P'07 bayonets too with multiple inspection/repair/refinish dates.
