On the other hand, doesn't it intrigue you as to whom the people who pay these prices are and what's their motivation?

Would you not think that a little research on an item, via the Google Dewey Card System, would not be warranted before parting with one's cash? What was P.T Barnum's famous saying...?

PT Barnum's "Humbugging people" the only one to out humbug him was "Grizzly Adams" and a buckskin jacket he borrowed off of PT, he was buried in it after he died as he said to PT just prior to dying "He was not quite done with it yet" so he was as PT did not have the heart to not grant this last wish to his long and dear friend.................

Do you think some vendors hope that someone is going to click "Buy" without realising or looking to see what the price is? You do see on Amazon sometimes a huge difference in the price for exactly the same book, for example.

I gave up wondering (& caring) why or how people spend their money years ago.
But to play devils advocate i'd say there are many reasons to buy it,but I'll give two that spring to mind.
Hell they don't make them anymore & if you needed one to replace a missing pad or more accurately reverse engineer a copy then I say go for it ,or what ever pushes your hair back.

Suppose reverse is a thought but they were custom fitted to the rifle originally so what a standard ones measurements were before fitting would be who knows?
Peter or Brian Dick may be able to shed some light. But you would only be measuring what fitted that rifle guess you could keep things on the fat side........

You're picking up what i'm laying down,if you were to reverse engineer said item,you'd leave enough material on the reverse to suit milling for individual actions.
