Very different memorial. Most I would see in US towns were Civil war soldiers and a few WW1 soldiers. Very nice...

Yes, important. Many years ago some organization put up a statue and a GCA member noticed that the sling was wrong on the M1 (don't recall why). GCA quietly wrote a check to have it fixed
