The thing is, when I was buying those in 1974-'75 in Vancouver, Canada and here in Victoria too...there were all kinds of those with early features available. They must have had SO MANY that the vast majority never saw the rebuilds we so feverishly describe as being done. No shortage of flat bolts, flip sights, hi wood, "I" cut stocks...type one bands...push safeties...

I've heard they were almost giving them away in the 60's. Can't imagine how many nice ones were sporterized but I suppose it didn't matter when they were $25 bucks a pop. Who knew.

We were paying an average of $125 CDN then. You could get any manufacturer and any combination of early or late features.

Have always been interested in a Canadian marked carbine, but yet to run into one. Not many out there from what I have read.

It would be easier to mark one than find one. Yes, I have both copies of that publication... The rifles have been seen lots but I've never seen the BAR or carbine so marked. Colin Stevens swears they're around though...

I passed on a KART (I believe) marked on the receiver heal at a swap show a few weeks ago. It was rough and wasn't allowed to pull the stock to see internals. @ $450 asking price, I now have 2nd thoughts that I should have picked it up.

KART, I believe was Norwegian (?) coastal artillary. But would have to look it up.
