    Thumbs down

I'd say you have a snowballs chance in hell of ever finding that info.
Why you ask - simple, It is Very probable that the copy the military kept was not kept more than a year (IF that long) and then destroyed. Once the GI had the weapon back in the states the gov't had no interest in any paperwork pertaining to it. All those unneeded forms would have been a storage pain even if copied to microfilm.

I would guess that you are trying to prove a weapon is a bring back when there is no supporting document. Won't happen. Some guys brought trophies home w/o ever having done the paper work in country and others have long ago lost the copy they had. To bad as there is no replacement.

I long ago took all of my trophy papers and made a couple of xerox copies of each. I have then sent one copy of each to my sister and a close friend just in case something was to happen to my originals.

What type of trophies are you talking about, a weapon or another object that isn't potentially harmful?

My comments apple to ALL types of war trophies whether weapons, weapons accessories, uniforms, medals or a WW 2 Germanicon motorcycle/side car (yes, I have heard of a few of those gotten home).

My question was aimed at Spaz86 but thanks anyway Sarge. It's a bit tricky when we don't really know what we are talking about exactly.
