    P1907 Bayonet Search

Greetings fellow collectors! My eldest son recently purchased a 1917 BSA No . 1 Mk III* in very nice condition (say NRA Excellent). I would like to purchase him a bayonet in similar condition with scabbard and frog. I collect US martial pieces and I am completely out of the water as to where to start a search outside of Ebay. Any suggestions on sources would be greatly appreciated. Regards, H.T. Rea, Katy, Texas

Yes...simply place a WTB on the appropriate forum here and ye shall likely find... There's lots of US collectors on here that may have a spare.

You could try fellow member Brian Dickicon who may be able to help or advise you. I've just looked on his website and a 1907 bayonet is listed but I don't know if it's still available. You need to be careful if importing from outside of the U.S. to follow the rules but Brian may be able to advise you on exactly what the rules are.

All you guys have to do to see where someone is from is click on the little blue button at the bottom of his posting box. It shows where he is, it makes less conjecture about where he is. Or, read the address he posted...

He has a WTB posted now...
    Regards, Jim

Best to ignore the little blue marker BAR, it's pretty inaccurate, take my location for example, the IP address says Berowra, NSW.
But that's about 250k from my actual location of Scone, NSW.

It tells us you're from Aussie, not US or Denmarkicon. That's what's important.

I'd steer away from mint-condition bayonets, as repros are being sold in the USAicon
British WWI Enfield SMLE P-1907 Bayonet and Scabbard ima-usa.com

are you searching for one that fits and works or one that is era correct for your rifle?

ebay remains the the best choice for a working blade and scabbard but be patient.

I looked for 8 months to find separatly my era correct bayonet and the correct scabbard so be patient they do show up, however be prepared to pay. searched alot but both were purchased on ebay. found both here in the USAicon.

there is a publication that deals with and promotes the Military antiques industry

    Its called

    Military Trader

if you call this number they may be able to tell you where they sell the magazine at a news stand local to you.

    866-700-2994

dont know if they are on line. Many vendors of Militaria advertise in it.
