Normal m1850 Prussian? Pic heavy

I just picked up what seems to be a model 1850 Prussian cavalry pistol....except a couple modifications? I can't tell if they're original, i.e. a variation I haven't ID'd yet, or a post-issue rearsenal (or god forbid, bubba). The trigger guard and the barrel band aren't like all the photos I've seen of standard models. If the barrel band was cut, I think it was done a long time ago as there's no difference to the patina or weathering on the barrel where it would have been. As far as the trigger guard, it seems shaped and measured to fit exactly, like it was original but I don't have detailed photos of that area for an original (?) example. Other than that, I think all internal lock parts are number matching, it's got a very old repair just behind the lock plate, and it's unit marked to a cavalry unit. I love the cannon ring on the muzzle...just like the 79 Reichsrevolver. :-)

Sorry, even it it was done a century ago, it's still Bubba. The barrel band looks like a fudge. The trigger is too far forwards within the loop of the guard. The loop is too tight. It would be awkward to use.

My guess: a damaged pistol was refurbished.

If you can find a copy, "Die Militär-Faustfeuerwaffen des Königreiches Preussen und des Deutschen Reiches" has plenty of detail photos of the M/50 pistol.

There was a marine version, without the spur on the trigger guard, but all versions had guards that are moulded into a pillar where they join the baseplate. The guard shown here has been bent up from flat strip.
