don't laugh home made brass catcher

Still need some adjusting. out of 50 rounds caught 10 but knocked down 38 to my feet. 2 are unaccounted for. My last trip to the range I got 1 casing back out of 50 so I am happy with the return.

might adapt to my garand if I get it working.
Ranges I go to anything in front of the line is theirs. I do cheat and reach under with a broom but last time the casings were going too far out in front.

Change your extractor and ejector and alter the ejection pattern to being behind you.

Great ingenuity, but I did laugh. You might catch more butterflies than cases with that set up.

Why not pick up one of these brass deflectors. They run about $20 plus shipping.

Mosquito netting or grab a large smelt net.
I gonna grin also, but what ever it takes to get your brass !
I leave a hard 2 rifle case open behind me on a table @ our range, it will catch 90% of the spent brass.
Ejects over my right shoulder. Sometimes I sent my straw hat there and can catch nearly 50 %.
Out in the grass or gravel I'll unfold a 6x8' tarp.
Like I said what ever it takes.
But like Bobg said a new ejector and extractor should have you good to go.
Might not need the Extractor if there are burrs under the lip you can lightly file.

Gotta give you credit.......... Anyone that shows up with that set up....... NEEDS HIS BRASS BACK.... and must be SERIOUS !!!!

Like those Go Fund Me Sites......... We could start up a Brass collections for you if need be.

All in good fun, Thx for the giggles ;-)

P.S. Could we Sticky that picture. Pictures on the internet are there FOREVER

What about one of those pop up screen houses?
Just cut out a small sighting/shooting hole and you'll be up to your knees in brass in no time.

    Cheers

P.S. Being serious..... I had one of my shooters that was throwing brass hard out at 3'0'clock. Just enough to cover the bench top of the shooter to the right of me. You might know the type... All Pro shooter gear clothes, gloves, etc. I had a section of replacement screen left over from re-screening our patio door in the truck. I grabbed it, stood on the bench and stapled it up between us. Just as I finished up.... he packed up and left, but I left it up and worked great. When finished for the day I rolled the bottom up and tacked it out of the way. It was around and used by others there for a long time. Any locals know the CCRC and seen it, that was me !

We have something similar at one of our ranges and I did about the same as they had it to keep brass from heading down range. I dismounted it and stood it beside me to keep AR brass at my side...

Yep painter I know the type they have all the go gear that looks a million bucks the gun even has its own blanket for cold days they get all upset if they get a 4 and go about cussing the reloading press was out or the bullet maker cannot make bullets. Then I rock up with a beater get 3's, 4's & 5's have a good time then head for home full of sunshine whilst they go home in a huff with black clouds over their head........

I seen a guy at the Range do this to recover his casings and he modified a oversized Aquarium Fish Net on rigged up sometime to hook onto the Wire around the Fish Net. The only thing he mentioned was he has to change them out after a few times, but it was worth it to recover his casings. I never thought I see another like it.
