Afternoon all,
On flea bay last week I came across multiple add for plastic resin L2A3 components.
These are apparently dimensionally the same as the originals and have been moulded from original component parts, barrels, breech blocks, end caps etc.
Laser measurements taken / 3D printed, don't know how they do these things, but they are very close reproductions, even down to the clear NATO stock number on the BB.
The idea being you can make your own "Star Wars blaster", whatever that is...
It struck me that suitably finished, these would make a very interesting wall display encompassing my deactivated L2A3.
Logic and common sense tells me that these are not firearm pressure baring parts (made from plastic after all)... But as we all know, logic and common sense play no part in firearms legislation.
So, are these items (specifically breech block) legal, or not in the UK?
If I was playing devils advocate here, I suppose you could say the plastic breech block would provide a master to reverse engineer a steel one from...
My gut tells me customs and the police wouldn't like the BB one bit!
