17-7-8 Garand Picture of the Day

An M4A3 76w from an unknown unit passes by the corpses of Nazi troops. You can see a wooden AT stick box and one of the deceased Germans seems to by laying on one.

and the Panzerschreck up by the fence. Can imagine these guys, possibly newbies (helmet liner in back looks awful clean/new) were told to hold that point and died trying.

Which was probably what sealed their fate- their position has concealment but no real cover.

As far as I can tell from the picture there is no warhead sticking out from the front of the pipe but I'm only looking on a lap top so can't be certain.

The Panzerschreck loads like the Bazooka...the Panzerfaust has the bomb hanging out like the RPG...see the short vid accompanying...

Maybe that case held the projectile and thats empty, thing is they were in a bad spot they may have been in a ditch but there is not any real cover all the boys have to do is flank them or easier still call in the fly boys to beat them up......
Besides we do not know which direction the goodies were coming from!
