Winchester stock

I have a Winchester mix master. The stock is Winchester right side wra ghd. And cross cannon. The stock seams thicker in grip area than other carbines I have held. My question is, did Winchester have thicker stocks than other makers?

WRA Had Thick Grips, but more to them than that.
