    USGI Recoil Check?

    hey guys,

I have what appears to be a USGI recoil check and flash hider. They are marked with an F inside an oblong circle.

Any idea who made it, and if they are USGI?

It was probably made by Ferro Machine, but that is not confirmed.

It is not US Military, but a State Dept contract for an overseas country. Which country is hard to pin down based on verbal claims and no evidence.

Possibilties are several European countries or the Phillipines. Again, these are verbal claims, nothing that can be proven.

Thank you for the post, Mr. Ricca!

Interesting information about their possible origin. I do know that these are better-made then the ones marked Spain, but never knew their (even tentative) story.

When they arrived in country about 8-10 years ago, there were statements that they were in Italyicon, Holland, Belgiumicon, and Phillipines. None of those statements were proven.

It is highly probable that Ferro Machine made them for a State Department contract, but as of now, there is no documentation.

The vintage is probably late 1950's or later.
