How to lube the Bren Gun ?

Can any one post pictures of the places that should be lubed on the Bren Gun and what type of grease and or oil to used at each location ? Thanks for any help by the members on this subject .

Fire the gun dry for 30 rounds. Then take it apart and look for all the bright spots. Lubricate them.

Best advice you can have there from Brian. Get the book, read, read again and then act. But really it all depends on why you want to lubricate the gun. AFTER firing, BEFORE firing or for storeage?

I just use engine oil and paint it on the bolt and carrier and let it soak in (a BSA bike joke there)

I got the BSA joke Mr E........ A bit like a few years ago during one of those quite interesting debriefing lessons with a class of would be instructors discussing lubricating the little SA80 - and weapons generally - in desert conditions. One turned round and told the class that oil and the fine, sandy, almost cement or talcum powder dust that finds its way everywhere out there mixes to form.......... wait for it........... graphite grease! I had to take a deep breath and a millisecond to take it in......... Graphite grease......... Nope I told them...... He's correct in one small part - in that it does indeed start with a 'G', but what he's now got is GRINDING paste and not GRAPHITE grease!

Personally, I use the fat of the vanquished....but that's just me.
