Lord Louis Mountbatten was killed on the same day on his boat at Classibawn Castle where he lived, a man who had always stood for freedom and peace, a tragic tragic day in history

A prayer for all those who fell during the long and troubled history of the UKand Ireland. Among them also a relative of ours. Crazy family, our great one.

His ship the Kelly he was commanding was bombed & sunk losing half her compliment in the evacuation of Crete in WWII he escaped that as well famously saying "we didn't leave the Kelly, the Kelly left us!"
Though they did manage to shoot down 3 of the planes that were attacking her.
It seems so long ago, but clear as if it was yesterday. Has anyone been back to Ulster?
