    WW2 Air Raid Warden's uniform

I thought members may like to see my Grandfather's ARP/Civil Defence, Warden's uniform which I still have. The blank forms are original forms for reporting bomb damage etc of which I have a few. Interestingly, wardens were also given similar forms for reporting enemy troop movements, had the Germans invaded, of which I have some but can't lay my hands on at present. Those who volunteered for the ARP before hostilities started in 1939 were given a silver cap badge but those who joined after got a cloth badge.

The civilian services are sometimes forgotten when WW2 is remembered but the Police, Fire, Ambulance and Civil Defence personnel put their life on the line too on the Home Front, on a regular basis.
