Hello all!
I just picked up an old Swede, all matching in excellent condition- except the stock. The stock and hand guard match the rifle so I didn't want to refinish them. I bought a stock set from Sarco and everything fits great save for some minor needed tang and barrel channel relief. My problem is the stock and hand guard I received were not matched to each other so the hand guard was a bit proud on the sides and the step for the rear band doesn't line up with the stock's step. What's the best way (and tools to use) to remove this wood evenly and have it line up straight with the stock? My goal is to line the "steps" up and not remove wood under were the band would rest.
I added a photo to help illustrate.
Thanks in advance!Information
