    ID This Gun ?

Can anyone ID the gun in back leaning against the file cabinets?
This picture is from back during the 1967 Detroit riots.
The guns pictured were seized by the Detroit Police Dept.

    Thx,

Looks like a Mosin Nagant chopped into a pistol. Obrez style.

    Well that was quick !

Thx Guys, I knew someone here would get it.
I'm putting a list together right now and link to other arms used in Detroit in the 67 riot. I'll post in the Carbine forum.

Mosin Nagant without a doubt the mag and the action give it away regardless as to what the pistol grip is to some Detroit drug jockey

    Chopped Mosin "Drug Gun"

Given the cast on the grip and the length of the barrel and knowing that the Russians rounds are fairly hot I for one would not want to fire that thing lest one sprains the wrist and has all their hair singed by the copious flash that round produces from short barrels.......
Would not mind those Remington & Super X cartridge packets though........

Can be dependent on Condition/Manufacturer/Scarcity I have a couple of empty 12 Ga packets from REMUMC in excellent condition when they were made in Birmingham Englandicon retail would probably be around $250/Au each now. Your early Kynoch packets in good condition can cost a good penny I have a full packet of .33 BSA unopened which one vendor is selling individual rounds when they can get them for $80/Au/Ea that equates to $800/Au for just the cartridges without the packet.
But as usual the field leveler is what the buyer is willing to pay on the day for the item they want goes for anything in life really sometimes things come up and people splash the cash because they want it.

Cartridges and packets have always been my passion come to think of it eclectic collecting has been my passion even managed to collect a wife!

Thanks for the tips, I’ll have to keep that in mind. If I come across any empty boxes I don’t need, I’ll have to pay back the favor. Shouldn’t cost too much to send them down your way.
