    22 Pattern '14 No.1 from Faris Estate

Photo's of one of the gems purchased at Poulin's. An almost perfect .22 Pattern '14 No. 1 converted by Westley Richards. Only two problems, a mismatched bolt, and a weak to worn bore. I was not planning on getting her but I have a weakness for rifle's converted by Sparkbrook.

It did not come with the Parker-Hiscock at auction but another incomplete .22 Short Mk III there did, so I had to pick it up too. As the bolt was already modified it was an easy pairing. An added bonus was the Auxillary Rearsight that duplicates the sighting of the .303 Pattern 1914 Rifle.

Of interest is the receiver markings. This example is just marked Westley Richards, another of my rifles is converted and marked by the other contractor, A.G. Parker, and my third example has both Westley Richards with A.G. Parker overstamping it. Possibly finished at A.G. Parker due to labor/quality problems??? The new rifle also lacks the "No.1" after .22 Patt '14, but as it was not sent to Australianicon like the other two rifles this could be the reason or possibly it was a rack queen.

Has the bottom fore wood had a new front spliced onto it just up from the front volley dial bolt. !
Nice pick up by the way the magazines alone are worth a good deal of money down under you wont get much change out of a grand if not paying more.

It makes sense to trim off the long lee front end and fit one that will take a shtle nosecap.

A lovely trio of rifles. The two LSAs really take my fancy.
