    Christmas, a few days early

Christmas has arrived early, fortunately, I was home to sign for it as I would have been depressed all weekend without her. Overpaid or paid too much too early but it was a hole in the collection so I pulled the trigger.

The new girl is a mint, appears barely used, '44 BSA "B" series with a matching late Mk I HBM from their second s/n block. The matching can seem to be in the worst shape with a sloppy non-matching paint job in the inner lower section. Missing the scope can strap and the scope tool appears to be a good repro; fortunately, I have a stash of originals so if anyone needs it drop me a note.

    Happy Holidays!!

Lance can I ask a Q I have a '44 M47C but it wears a MK III No.32 AK & S - SN 16684 but I see yours has the MK II which requires the octopus tool to adjust the drums I say that because PL always reckons you needed a 3rd hand when using the tool just curious thats all.
Very nice addition good for you, I guess it will be off to the range shortly to see how the Ol' girl performs (gotta stop saying that as its a bit wrong isn't it.)

    Cinders,
Not really mate.........she is an old girl, someone you used to sleep with on Ops, take care off, and keep her laced with oil and pulled through regularly, and loved beyond reproach!

Cinders, very true the Mk III scope is much easier to adjust. Both types of scope tools need an extra hand or a set of knee's and is definitely a pain to use; one has to think that when it was originally designed to go on the Bren both hands could be free to adjust. As a collector, the Mk I scopes (and some Mk II's)are tough to find with their matching rifle and can. If you have a serious case of Enfielditis there is at least 12 different maker/year/serial number block examples of the MK I making collecting very expensive and challenging to impossible. As the Mk I scopes were used first and later replaced with a Mk III when able so this girl is more of a collector vs a shooter.

    Have fun at the range!
