    SG Recoil Plate's marked different

I am going through a bunch of M1icon Carbine parts with a friend and we came across his collection of recoil plates. He has a few SG plates, however some are stamped different. As you can see from the photos 1 is stamped sideways and two others are stamped in opposite directions. Can someone shed some light on why this was done?

I can't help you any with the why, but the few that I've seen and had were like your first one. Picture below is one believed to be original on an NPM. - Bob

If all the recoil plates are the same type then most likely the odd ones were just someone new learning or someone who was bored or careless. Not a critical thing the letters being stamp as long as it was done.
