    I kinda like it! I’d like to do that on a already-cutdown 1903 or 1917 someday. Don’t think I’d go spending that kind of money to do it though!

    Might be fun if I had a receiver lying around...$139 would be a cheap barrel of any kind around here.

    How well do 1903 barrels index from rifle to rifle? Not well, I'd imagine.
    The Kragicon is supposedly known for indexing well and my small experience agrees but those were only made by one firm for a handful of years.
    Hard to believe the 1903 managed the same with, what, 4 firms and as many decades.

    Don't go into it with the idea of being lucky, get ready to make it happen and you'll do fine. If the barrel was military production it shouldn't be bad.
