Ok, so it was actually Tuesday...
Picked up a mint and ‘Irish Contract’ Lee Enfield No4 Mk2 from my FFL last night. Paid a bit more than I should have but significantly less than the $1500 I was looking at for one still in the mummy wrap. This thing is effing clean! Not a scratch or a dent to be found and it’s never been fired. Essentially a brand new rifle built in 1955. I’ve wanted a mint one of these for awhile so I’m pretty stoked.
It does delay a project to get a really poor shooting MkI* fixed up, but it also allowed me enough left over to pick up a SwissSchmidt-Ruben Model 1911 so that’s a plus. Too many guns I want and not enough cash...
Now back to saving up to repair that MkI*.
