    Looking at a No 4 Mk 1

    Hello!

I was hoping a few could look at these pictures.

I am looking to pic up a new to me enfield.

Looks to be Maltby 1944. Looks matching. I am just not sure on the paint? It seems the markings were overpainted. Is this common? I don't see markings for FTR.

Can't tell if mag is painted.

Any glaring issues ? Or am I overthinking it?

It looks pretty sloppy. I'd guess either an Indian refurb or someone has tried to hide pitting.

How's the headspace? Match S/N's means nothing for the headspace. What's the barrel like?
Lotta those stamps were done by hand. All of 'em should be clear and even with the King's crown on top. Even with the Suncorite.
    Spelling and Grammar count!
