Need help identifying this old rifle

I'm new to the forum and is myself first attempt to post photos, I am helping a older gentleman prepare his long neglected collection of military arms ,
This rifle is in poor condition and I am having trouble identifying it, I hope someone on the forum can help,

It is a Snider, converted from a muzzle loader much as the USA converted them into trapdoor Springfields.

Is there some kind of marking by the rear tang screw? Is the rear sight marked with regular numbers or some kind of scribble? My thought at looking at the pictures is that the rifle was one of the snider types made in Nepal and sold by IMA after they purchased the cache of antique firearms from them.

That is what the owner told me, I have inspected and found a small mark where you suggest.
The wood shows signs of some rotting, there is a lot of rust on the barrel and side panels, but it can be cleaned up..

"...value in it in this condition..." What's the barrel look like? Thinking it's a Nepalese Snider too based on the total lack of markings on the receiver.
