    M1 Saginaw

Looking at a Saginaw receiver with a GM Barrel (no date on barrel). Stock is nice but not GI. It is import marked. Is $700 too much for this type of carbine? Not well versed in carbines, looking for a shooter that has some history to it. Thanks for any help.

I don't think so, but not everyone will agree. I bought my first one (similar to yours) for a price others thought was way too high, and within a few short years the value more than doubled. If it looks to be in good shape, I would go for it. Mine also was import marked, and with an aftermarket M2 stock. It was sold 3 years ago for $1000 - values have continued to rise since then. Welcome to the Forum! - Bob

If it's all USGI parts except for the stock then $700 is a good price for it. Not all US post war stocks are marked for a maker. Most if not all post war stocks will be the potbelly type.

I agree. $700 is pretty much the going price these days for an import marked carbine. GI stocks aren't hard to come by particularly if you don't mind an M2 stock.
When they tell you to behave, they always forget to specify whether to behave well or badly!
