You mean grains? 68 grams=1 049 grains

It depends on the calibre and what you want to achieve. What do you have in mind?

You can shoot a 68gr bullet in a 1:7 .223.

Yes, competition shooters use 68, 77 and 80 grain projectiles. There is also a military load with the 77 grain SMK which is as long as it gets for feeding from a magazine. The 80 grain SMK is for single loading in slow fire prone at 600 yards and is too long to feed from the magazine.

1:7 is a faster twist than needed for most any .224 bullets used in an AR. It was adopted in order to stabilize the very long tracer bullet.
