M1917 Stamp/Stock Mark

I was looking at this stamp today and thought I would ask for any info someone could provide. I'm interested in finding out if this was applied when the rifle was sold off,changed hands or how it got there.
My search ability/memory is weak so I posted.
It's from an all Eddystone marked rifle #588968 parked with a 4-18 barrel.

Your photo shows the WW1 eagle stamp, found on US Model 1917 Enfields and later 1903 stocks from WW1 period

Right below the eagle head is what appears to be a shield or badge with US in it. Probably not the best picture but right above the bottom metal.

Yes, I thought that was what you were referring to. Maybe another pic with light and magnification on the lower stamp would help.

That is not a normal stamping (the Badge)

The E on the end is. Its also a very clean stock.

Have you cross check SN with date (I don't have that cross handy)

Usually if its rearsenaled there will be stamps on the left side of the stock.

Close up pictures of the SN and receiver left side, barrel front (looking at condition)

Inclined to think its a restored piece from how clean it is. Parking is a bit early I think, OEM of that era would be the blackish blue.

Receiver ring pic is a little yellow looking because of the flash so I moved outdoors in better light. The only thing that is blued is the bolt shroud and the stock recoil bolt. I'm not sure the stocks ever been fooled with. I think the rifle just hasn't seen much use but must have become parked some time prior to storage maybe. The follower also has a silvery look to it and I just realized the action screws aren't staked which I have noticed on other rifles. It's hard to say when the stamp with the badge was applied I never seen one before.

I looked at a couple reference books and didn’t see anything like this.
Just tagging on so I can see the answer when it comes.
