No Garandin this photo....but I figured this was as good a place as any to post today.
This is my distant cousin on my mothers side of the family, Sergie Zuke.
He landed on Utah Beach with the 4th US Infantry Division on the morning of June 6th. This is the beach that Gen. Teddy Roosevelt Jr. was on.
Sadly, he would be dead 19 days later in the fighting near Cherbourg Harbor.
He is buried in the American Cemetery at Normandy.
