    Is this a record...

    ... For an Enfield No.4 Mk2?

    http://www.egun.de/market/item.php?id=7525508

    €1745 ! ! !

Knock off the one in front, halve the rest, and you have what I paid for mine ten years ago(also an UF55A, less than 1000 earlier - i.e. a week or two).

OK, mine isn't quite as new-looking - I bought it for shooting, not for admiring - so maybe it's only worth half as much. It was also an arsenal-mint - never in service - example at a time when there seems to have been a stack of them sold off by Germanicon dealers at typical prices of €4xx.

But now - these old rifles are edging up into the price stratosphere. I think I'd better give my rifle a bit of TLC with linseed oilicon. And the others, acquired for moderate 3-figure prices, that now seem to fetch solid four-figures.

Something that you can enjoy using AND see it increase in value! I'm so glad that my fiscal irresponsibility led me to purchase those old bangers when I could!

So let's enjoy them while we can, knowing that, when we're gone, our inheritors will have nothing to complain about!

There are two for sale on a UKicon Dealer's website at the moment, for £1500 GBP. Mind you, they have been for sale for over two years that I know of. Maybe he is waiting for them to grow into their price tags!

One went up on a shooting forum recently for £1000 and never sold, I think he dropped the price in the end.

I expect a more realistic price is around £800-£900 if it's something you must have.

That matches with what I would have estimated - at least up until now.

I have been following the prices of the Ol' Girls for years and in the last 18 months things have taken a very bizarre turn in the price hike that these things are going through the base price now for a clunker with a 3/10 barrel seems to be in the $4-500.oo/Au range with the sky the limit depending on the type whether mummed or very late UF serials those seem to range from $1200.oo to $2.5K.
Even the "T" s have gone up there are not many for sale here at present a couple of P-14's sniper rifles at around 12-14K on usedguns.com.au from a known collector and ratified.

Even the parts for the 303's are getting out of hand like years ago a No.4 spike you could get for $25 - $30 Au now they want $65+ and the No.9 I have seen upwards of $250/Au considering some 15 years ago my 1916 MD 5 No.1 MkIII cost me $100/Au and I am sure others out there got them even cheaper like everything in the world obviously they think the supply will dry up that maybe so but surely there is some gouging going on here.
