    anzac smle's question

    when was the last Lithgowicon smle manufactured?
    i'm guessing 1945. i know they were used in korea.
    also. did the the new zealanders use lithgow smles during ww11 or were they issued no.4's?

    Ian says 1953. I'd go with that despite recalling the Lithgowicon museum staff telling '54.

    NZicon troops used No1s in the European Theatre, and No4s in the Pacific,and some of the No1s were Lithgows.

    2nd question, which army had better shooters, the kiwis or the australians?

    i spent my r&r from viet nam in Australiaicon in 1970 and went to new zealand in 1998.
